Project Overview

The DeFi Tokenomics Lead will serve as the primary tokenomics strategist for Panga Ventures, designing sustainable token economic models, evaluating investment opportunities, and providing strategic guidance to portfolio companies on token mechanics and governance structures. This role requires deep expertise in mechanism design, game theory, and behavioral economics applied to decentralized finance and Web3 ecosystems. If you have experience designing successful tokenomics models and understand the intersection of economics and blockchain technology, this is a high-impact leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead tokenomics design and optimization for Panga Ventures portfolio companies including token distribution, incentive mechanisms, and governance structures.
• Conduct tokenomics due diligence on potential investments, evaluating economic sustainability, mechanism design, and long-term viability.
• Design innovative token economic models including veTokenomics, bonding mechanisms, treasury management, and yield optimization strategies.
• Provide strategic guidance on governance token design, voting mechanisms, and DAO treasury management for portfolio companies.
• Analyze token economics performance and optimize incentive structures based on on-chain data and user behavior analysis.
• Collaborate with portfolio companies on token launch strategies, airdrop design, and community incentive programs.
• Research emerging tokenomics trends and mechanisms to inform investment strategy and portfolio guidance.
• Lead tokenomics education and knowledge sharing across the Panga Ventures investment team and portfolio companies.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in tokenomics design, mechanism design, or economic modeling, with significant focus on DeFi and Web3 projects.
• Proven track record of designing successful tokenomics models for DeFi protocols or Web3 companies with demonstrable impact on growth and sustainability.
• Deep understanding of game theory, behavioral economics, and mechanism design principles applied to blockchain ecosystems.
• Experience with various tokenomics models including veTokenomics, bonding curves, liquidity mining, and governance mechanisms.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in economic modeling, data analysis, and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of DeFi protocols, governance frameworks, and treasury management strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex economic models to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced degree in Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field preferred.
